Toolmaker

Due to the award of new programmes and company growth, a leading manufacturer has a new vacancy for a Toolmaker to join the team.  You will be responsible for the production, manufacture, assembly & testing of a range of fixtures and tooling.  Candidates are sought with experience programming, setting and operating CNC Lathes and Milling Machines.

Commutable from:  Leicester, Coventry, Rugby, Nuneaton, Loughborough + Lutterworth  

Salary:  £27,000 - £ 35,000 + bonus + benefits

The Role

Develop new tooling for use in prototype and production.
Determine appropriate manufacturing sequence and processes.
Assemble fixtures and gauges from machined detail components.
Repair fixtures, gauges, and tools as required.
Inspection, repair and refurbishment of tooling and fixtures.
Operation of CAM package to produce CNC part programs.
Correct and modify subcontracted components.
Reverse engineering of components.
Machining of complex tools to drawings provided by Engineering.
Programming/Setting/Operation of CNC Lathes and Milling Machines.

The Person

Time Served Apprenticeship.
CNC Milling/Turning experience, ideally Haas or Fanuc control system experience.
Good problem solving skills.
Valid driver’s license and good driving record is required. 
Able to read engineering drawings and understand dimensions and geometric tolerances.
Resourceful, with the ability to work independently.
Strong time management skills with ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
Ethical and trustworthy.
